Feather Trait Guide

Feathers are a rather strange item that both Kiamaras and Dromedairy must obtain before they can go on quests or become parents. These feathers are a coming-of-age symbol obtained by the 'Mara or Droma for undergoing their Feather Trial. There are many different feathers that are obtainable in the world of Solaria and it is said the rarer the feather, the luckier the 'Mara or Droma.

Attempts to do quests without feathers are usually met with no rewards, and a scolding to the Kit or Calf who attempted to without doing their feather trial. Those that try to alter their feather to represent a rarer one will find that the feather just will not allow it, that the feather will go back to its original state after the Kiamara or Dromedairy has gone to sleep. All feathers on the trial are colour coded, though, to help those who obtain them know what they can or can't do with the feather they have found. As soon as the feather has been used, it takes on a pattern that represents the Kiamara or Dromedairy that wears it in some way. Similarly, even attempting to put a feather on a Kiamara or Dromedairy that has not undergone their feather trial ends up with the feather turning to Phoenix Dust or, if they were covered in Brumble Wax, a pile of thick sticky sludge. It's as if the feathers know something we don't.

Common Feathers:

These feathers are the more common amongst all those found on the trial. Strangely, the placement is also particular for feathers, with many just noticing they don't work in specific placements and will usually end up back in a workable place once the Kiamara or Dromedairy falls asleep.

UnCommon Feathers:

These feathers are seen less on the trial. One thing some of these feathers are able to do is be placed elsewhere, or shaped differently. 

Rare Feathers:

As the name suggests, these feathers are rare to find in Solaria. Not many 'Maras or Droma are out there sporting these feathers and are said to drop for those destined for greatness.

Very Rare Feathers:

These feathers are hardly seen in Solaria, with those sighted to have them are often to be found on Rift Jumpers. 

Legendary Feathers:

These feathers are, as the name suggests, something only really seen in legends. 

Mythic Feathers:

These feathers are quite strange. The accounts that have been found on Solaria of individuals with these kinds of feathers mention that it covers almost all other types of feathers not already listed. The possibilities are... mind-boggling.
