Thena enjoys stargazing; it fills her with inspiration and allows her to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of society. For a moment, she can forget about the agony to reaching her dreams, as well as the judgement and what-ifs along the way. She loves the peace that comes with it, and her best pieces seem to come from her little getaways from all the light and noise.

She trudged further, higher, deeper into the abyss of the forest. The song of the night accompanied her; the owls hooted and called, the crickets chirped and rang by her side. Branches snapped, leaves crackled beneath her unwavering steps. The bustling noise of society had long been left behind her, as she embraced the sounds of nature in her trek. As she approached a clearing, she paused, a foot hovering over the ground before her. She took a step further forth then, inhaled a large breath of air. Carefully, she walked further, to the center where she stopped. She gazed for a long moment at her feet, catching her breath. Then she looked up, the sky clear and bright. Star-filled. Silent.

Thena lowered herself to the ground, carefully laying onto her back among the grass and leaves. She gazed up at the sky in silence, taking in the sight before her in awe and peace. The night's song lilted in her ears, the breeze embracing her with their gentle caress. Time seemed to stand still as flora rustled all around her. Stars winked cheerfully at her, and the moon bathed her in its welcoming light. She shut her eyes for a moment, an unknown tune snaking its way into her mind.

She began to hum, the song unraveling before her as her mind thought it. And then the words came, and she began to sing. Thena grinned as she began to belt out the notes, taking mental memos of the music coming to life before her. Her eyes had opened as the song reached its chorus; the sight of the stars twinkling before her made her chest swell with something like exhilaration.

Then as it came to an end, she paused, reached out to the stars. She could almost see herself among them, each twinkling light a chapter of her imagined future. And with a renewed vigour, she continued to smile, encouraged once more to continue her journey.

What is this kiamara's favorite hobby? Penumbra loves to make books. She started when she was a kit, gluing the ends of sheets of paper together or tying them with string. Then she began to learn more about binding books, as currently evidenced by her collection of book-binding needles! As she's gotten older, her art has gotten more refined. She's learned about leatherworking and paper arts in order to make her books better. Now, she makes gorgeous layered paper story books, though she isn't much of a writer herself-- mostly she takes existing fairy tales and creates her paper illustrations for them. She doesn't have the confidence for commissions since she doesn't think anyone would be interested in her artwork, but she's passionate about what she does, even if most people will never hear about it! Her favorite story she’s ever adapted is one a Rift-Jumper told her about the moon getting trapped in an evil swamp.
