How do the parent(s) respond to witnessing or experiencing injustice?:
Dalylah has always been a bleeding heart regarding injustices, especially involving children. Before the rift, Dalylah cared for the woodlands in her surrounding area. This led to the fateful encounter with Inola, a 'mara kit being raised by a family of silver foxes. The family of foxes began to distance themselves from Inola when his winter coat didn't come in fully. As such, Dalylah slowly gained his trust and began raising him as a proper 'mara.
Hazley is a bit on the opposite end. She will help others but won't go out of her way to feed another mouth. Growing up in a house with too many others taught her early on how difficult life can be. When meeting Dalylah she was put off by Inola, not wanting to walk in after a previous mate, she ghosted. Months later, Dalylah happened upon Hazley and immediately wanted an explanation. The misunderstanding was resolved, and Hazley felt the need to reflect on her actions.
Two years later, they got married. Within the first week of their marriage, Dalylah had brought yet another 'mara home. This one looked much like a deer, was dehydrated, and unconscious. Hazley was immediately against caring for the stranger. Inola had recently moved out to explore the world a bit, and they even discussed possibly having a kit of their own. This new stranger would inadvertently ruin said plans. After a heated discussion, Hazley took a walk. Dalylah cared for the stranger, and as he slowly woke, she realized he was... well, feral. Strangely enough, feral in the sense of a prey animal having been captured. Over a few days, Dalylah ensured the stranger, whom she aptly named Hart, was able to be on his own then released him to the woods. She has since seen him with other deer. Hazley once again apologized to which Dalylah suggested instead of an apology she should realize this is no longer her childhood home.
After two kits, who have grown and moved out, both of which they are now trying to find in this new world after the rifts. Hazley could not believe her eyes as Dalylah held a 'mara egg. "Hey Haze..." "Day, this.... this isn't ours, is it?" The orange hues were reminiscent of Hazley but different in color, maybe a distant gene....that didn't matter. What mattered was her mate standing before her holding a 'maras egg. "Hazley, I know we've been looking for our other two, but what if they aren't even here yet? What if we keep changing places and just barely miss them? I have been thinking about settling down and I truly believe this abandoned egg is a sign." Hazley took in a deep breath. It had nearly been a year since they got to Solaria and the constant travel was wearing them both. Though to think Dalylah would come bearing yet another strange 'mara. Letting the breath out, "Well I do enjoy the forest surrounding Manabane, I guess a house there wouldn't be too terribly drab." She said with a soft smile, Dalylah's face immediately lit up. "This is why I love you Hazley, and just think if the kids are looking for us at least we will be in one spot. Plus we are saving yet another life." "And that is why I love you Dalylah. Please, don't ever change."
