nyota was born into a family where the women of the family almost always inherited some form of magical ability. at the age of 3 his family learned that he had the ability to conjure the constellations at his paws. this sparked a lifelong fascination with the stars and the heavens that would never leave him.

 

nyota's life was forever changed when he was 7. an unexplainable and mysterious illness and high fever rendered him nearly blind. he could no longer look up at the night sky and see the heavens he loved so dearly. this mad ehim fall into a major depression until his mother began teaching him to harness his powers to see the stars he so longed to. it wasn't the same, but as long as he could essentially pluck them from the heavens and into his paws he was happy.

 

nyota grew from a small child and into quite the young man. he lost his mother when he was 19 to the same illness he had, but she had taught him all he needed to know to continue on in his family home. he inherited the home that had passed down for generations and sought to start his own family. 

 

his own family started when he met  nymeria. the two did not get along very well at first, but as the two butted heads they realized they were head over heels for each other. this blossomed into an undying love for each other and two beautiful boys, ellatt and cedar.
