Kn-1054: Hototo Ukiyo
Hototo: 'warrior spirit who whistles' Native american name that means 'warrior spirit who sings/whistles' The eldest of the royal triplets from Malec and Hartley, Malec being the king of Yeshua, he takes on responsibility well without letting it overwhelm him. His personality is essentially very chill and has a carefree spirit, he can remain calm and enjoy himself no matter the circumstances. Not necessarily good at humour, but he tries to brighten up the negative times with a bit of humour if he feels its necessary. Relatively decent at diplomacy, but his younger brother is definitely the specialist at that, so he lets him so much of those tasks, but does make sure it's not overwhelming for him. May end up inheriting the throne, but he's so relaxed about all that, and besides, he feels his little brother is more suited to the role. Ended up enamored with the sword, and the art of fighting to protect others whilst dodging to protect oneself, and has become quite skilled at various weapons. Particularly fond of short sword, long sword, spear, tomahawks, axes, crossbows, bows in general and kite shields. Became excellent at hunting from an early age, both due to Hartley taking him out especially and teaching him, and also due to him throwing most of his energy and spare time into either hunting or practicing his weapon skills. Decent at cooking, and is used to being very minimalistic in what he carries, but also having enough to survive getting lost in the wilderness just in case. Excellent tracker, and good at spotting when he's followed. Helps the local tanneries a lot so has a bit of practice with tanning hides as well, however, is pretty hopeless at creating new items of clothing or anything like that. Enjoys a bit of sailing, like his father Hartley, feels like he bonded well with his father on that, and has been trying to learn how to make ships from him. In that regard, loves his sea shanties, and loves to sing, hum or whistle, and does that pretty regularly. Also has a massive wanderlust, much like his father Hartley, and goes off on a wander every now and then, quite often ending up encountering a problem not reported along the way. Is the type to just go "Hey Dad, Daddio, I'm off for a trip" and just be super chill and nonchalant about it. Is known for being super responsible and reliable, but also casual about being royalty, many of his hunting friends aren't aware he even is royalty. Whenever he goes on a trip, he's allowed to do whatever because the parents assume he'll be responsible and safe. When he goes on a trip, he goes 'hunting'. It is still hunting, just not your usual hunting, more bounty hunting/monster hunting/protector of the weak. He gathers intel on villages and towns terrorized by various monsters or bandits and goes off to deal with the problem. It is true he's careful to not bite off more than he can handle, and due to this he's not been injured on his adventures (yet), but he does have a bit of a tendency to do all this alone, which is fairly dangerous, it is always better to have someone guard your back after all. It takes decades for his parents to become aware of what he's doing on his trips, because he is so secretive and careful about it, due to knowing that if they found out, they'd try all they could to stop him. Due to him regularly coming back, and never being injured, he reduced the reason for his parents to look into what he was doing. His dads just assumed he was visiting relatives or going on little diplomatic trips or something. His siblings, however, are another matter, far more curious. But he is aware of this, and they always get roped into other things before being able to truly follow him, they've gone on many a side quest, chores or various other distractions. His one sister eventually stops caring, she does not have the patience to devote a lot of time into learning a high skill in sneaking and such, but his brother Edie is determined, and ends up perfecting his talent for sneaking around, developed from the time the brothers used to prank the royal staff, and learns how to follow with enough of a distance between him and his target, to be able to get a glimpse of what his brother Hototo is doing, but still has to follow at a massive distance so only catches up after a fight has ended, and glimpses his brother cleaning his equipment or something, with a bloody mess on the ground, and a dead griffon or giant snake or something, and then heads home cause Edie does not want to get involved in that. He never mentions he knows to anyone, not even Hototo himself, just felt it was a no ask no tell situation. Once he gets home does a bit of research on previous monsters and such causing problems in the kingdom and matching those dates when they were resolved, with the times Hototo took a trip. When Edie followed him, it was early on in Hototo's expeditions, maybe a few months into it, later on, Hototo becomes too aware to be followed like that unless it was another skilled tracker and such. Edie takes the time to sharpen weapons, making extra arrows and reinforcing Hototo's things for 'hunting' because he's the one that's good at repairs and fiddly things like that. He supports his brother in his own way essentially, Hototo has an idea of Edie doing that, especially cause "huh I thought this sword was blunt" but doesn't try and ask Edie about it. All the siblings do go on trips together, just they are very close to home, and it's more relaxed as the youngest (Casimir) and the eldest (Hototo) want to protect their sister and Edie. Casimir does join Hototo for hunting every now and then, but not the monster hunting, just more wild game things, they have a pretty close bond. Casimir helps Hototo out with his more dangerous hunting in his own way, using diplomacy and such to give Hototo access to other kingdom's problems, or having good excuses available for why Hototo is gone for a month or something like that. Casimir did not find out by following Hototo, he found out a different way. Casimir is more open with Hototo about knowing, thus they chat a bit about it when going on hunts for game together. If Hototo is struggling to get to a monster due to an awkward area or its too long a trip or something else that would make it look suspicious to their dads, Cassy lends a little hand. Gets chatty when injured
