Ra was a name given to him when he was looting due to his reverence as a robin hood type. He became fond of the monicker and adopted it as his name. He and his mother lived for years on the edges of Cairo living paycheck to paycheck until Ra was able to assist his mother in securing wages, which is when they moved out to Nasr City. He would hike and loot sites close enough to slink away from and sell to private collectors and then help care for his neighbors. It wasn't until he met his wife (Gatsby) that his life changed. He tried to steal her jewelry only to be out pick pocketed by her, she was witty and cunning and swept him off his feet.
