Ka-1697: Chandra Krauss

Chandra grew up in the city, in a perfectly content middle class life. However, she was often seen as being an outsider due to her harsh realism about the world, interest in bugs and plants above the things her peers were interested in, and her appearance. She didn't particularly mind, but because of how others interpreted her she never really developed many close connections in the city. 

She went to college to study biology and then sought a job as far away from the cities as she could get. Not with any bitterness, simply because she felt her calling elsewhere. She was tired of reading notes written by others, she wanted to make her own.

She is a biologist working for a private company and currently living in the deep swamp, where the locals often accuse her of being a witch. In reality, there is no magic abound- she only seeks to learn more about the plant and wildlife in the area and pursue scientific research with her family. 

She met Duradel when he stumbled into her life by mistake. The quirky kia from somewhere far from herself caught her heart and they soon became partners. He's no scientist, but he respects and encourages her passion in ways others never did.

Chandra is a quiet and independent individual who largely keeps to herself. She's an observer and a learner, and you can typically find her scribbling notes wherever she can to keep track of anything and everything she finds fascinating. She loves nature, and never minds getting her hands a bit dirty to investigate something thrilling. Despite coming across as blunt or dismissive of others, she really is very open minded and while she has a pretty muted and nonexpressive personality- she rarely gets upset or angry at just about anything. She prefers to be alone, but doesn't mind someone accompanying her as long as they aren't interrupting her work, and she absolutely adores teaching others what she has learned or is studying.

She does have a few odd mannerisms and she tends to like things in particular ways, and it occasionally puts people off from getting to know her, as she can become quite distressed if things aren't the way she had placed them. She's very organized and though her home is quite messy and littered with things- she insists it's very much an organized chaos.

She is often accosted with people accusing her of being a witch. Being that she lives in the swamp, has a home covered in strange samples, and loves cooking sometimes-strange looking things, but she doesn't pay any heed to this. She knows what her goals are and doesn't take much credence in what others have decided her to be. She's not quick to be insulted by silly assumptions about her.
