Ka-1675: Duradel
Duradel is a strange being from the void, caused by a rip in the multiverse after scientists brought another individual from a different universe and left a gaping hole in the connections of the two worlds.
Duradel is a peculiar individual who does not understand the meaning of his own existence. At first in his confusion and with purpose he lashed out to attack people near him, threatening anything in his way and destroying the lab that brought him to their universe. He rampaged and attacked the scientists- permanently destroying the portal in his fit. Once his purpose of defending those realities from intrusion was completed, he fell into confusion and disarray. Wandering the world aimlessly without purpose or real reason until he met a small child. The child mistook him for an imaginary creature, and gave him a name and slowly helped him to ebb his fears about the world by answering his questions. He is still quizzical about the world around him,and as a mistake he had no family or home, he had not yet determined his place or goals he's like to accomplish with the life he stumbled upon having.
He came to find himself in the swamps, avoiding people and their stares and judgemental looks. Running into a strange kiamara living alone there in the wilderness he was exposed to something new- having a friend. She had a deep passion for learning, and didn't fear him- she found him fascinating and had an incredible enjoyment in studying him in a way that didn't frighten him. He remained oblivious to her intentions, just happy to have a friend who didn't flee from him...and she slowly began to feel real companionship towards him.
She developed a romantic interest in this strange kiamara who seemed to know nothing of love. And that- was unfortunately not something she could teach him as she barely knew it herself. When the time came she finally confessed such feelings, she revealed a part of herself she didn't know existed, fear. Throughout her life she had never feared, never worried about being spurned or rejected for anything.
Confessing her feelings, Duradel remained confused about the subject, but agreed that he felt similarly, and thus they began to learn together and teach each other what it meant to be together. And Duradel, no longer had to face the world alone.
Now, happily with his family, he fears the day the void will call him again.
Duradel is a fatherly individual who enjoys supporting and listening to others. He loves to observe things from a distance and people-watch, just taking in the concept of this reality as opposed to the void he can barely recall. He finds people and the things they do to be very fascinating and he loves to hear their stories and try and learn to sympathize with them, even if he does nothing but listen. He's very openminded and understanding. He's very patient and always tries his best.
He can suffer bad anxiety when he feels trapped- or if he feels like he's losing touch with his reality. He has flashbacks to his time in the empty void and all the pain and crippling loneliness that entails. Dwelling on it too long can easily send him into a panic.
Despite living with a family of high-intelligence, Duradel is one of the less bright of the batch. He isn't stupid, persay, but he isn't as educationally inclined or fond of learning as his family is. He's a little too restless to enjoy reading very much, and large formulas or numbers can confuse or distress him. That's not to say he isn't willing to listen for his family's sake, but he'll more than often ask them to numb it down to layman's terms for his understanding. He tries his best to help, but his usual way of helping his busy family is by making dinner and generally just being a house-husband.
Its quite the dull-down from being an interdimensional traveller, but really- he's far happier this way and for once feels like he has a meaning in his life. Having a big and loving family makes him happy and that's what is most important. He's not the sort to lust for adventure anyway.
