Cerulean Forest

An ancient and mystical forest filled with many secrets hidden inside. The forest is super dense and hard to traverse through alone, containing deep marshes and dead ends, a true natural maze of twists and turns that’ll confuse any ‘mara who would attempt to make their way through it blindly and without guidance.

A blue haze seeps through the entire forest and the trees block most sunlight from shining too much through it. Cerulean Forest is filled to brim with special moss, flowers and fungi that contain bioluminescent properties that allow them to glow brilliantly in the moonlight. Most travelers that do manage to make it through the forest describe it almost as if they were transported to another world with the brilliance and beauty of the organic light. This natural energy is known to be fed off of creatures known as Manabeasts, that are seemingly native to this forest. 

There's a old folk tale that tells of a young child becoming lost within the forest and the beautiful light of a glowing hare led her back to her family in Manabane. This story predates the calamity and is told to many young ‘maras today. Guild members speculate whether or not the glowing hare was truly a Manabeast, or a figment of that girl’s imagination. But a common belief is that the forest itself lit the path that allowed her to eventually make her way back home. This story sparks debates of whether or not the forest itself is sentient, and truthfully nobody really knows. The secrets of the forest’s natural Bioluminescence stumps those even today, but is speculated by researchers within Manabane itself to be connected to the pre-calamity era, and the Inturos themselves.
