Bootleg Bog

Cavern
A Deep and treacherous Cavern on the outskirts of the Calamity Rift

--- ABOUT ---

Located on the outskirts of the calamity rift, the Bootleg Bog is a deep and treacherous cavern that gives off an uneasy and anxious feel. The inside of the cavern is quite large and spacious with many tunnels and connected nodes. The paths inside the cave are worn down by years of passing travellers, and fixed lights overhead by previous travellers to light the way through these tunnels is the only sure way of transportation through the cavern, the lights do not cover all bases however, and some shadowy areas may contain less than trusting folks waiting on certain deals…

Stalactites cover the ceiling plentifully, but Stalagmites no longer exist in the cave. The rocks within the cavern form a natural dock, allowing for many medium-sized vessels to dock safely inside the area. Merchants make their home in this cavern, bartering both legal and somewhat ‘illegal’ goods to anyone passing through. It’s common for ‘Droma and ‘Mara to share secrets and information in dark corners, selling information under the radar to the highest bidder. This confirms why most who have been robbed, aren't aware who would have done it in the first place.

The outskirts of the cavern are filled with polluted waters, that hold many hidey spots for sneaky critters and fiends. They wait patiently in order to ambush unsuspecting travellers with cargo, in order to find food. The water is so polluted that the creatures living in the area have adapted to its conditions, with many hermit crabs having been seen wearing old or lost goods as makeshift shells. The water is green with algae and fumes this sulfuric smell reminds some of rotten eggs. The lamberries in this area have turned purple due to the amount of dirty water they have taken in, which surprisingly makes these berries quite popular with Pirates, due to the salty taste they give. Pirates enjoy making these berries into potions as opposed to the lamberries found in Newport.
